Rainy saturday

Yesterday I decided to go for a short walk. My purpose for this walk was coffee. Or more exactly an double soy cappuccino with cinnamon from Dromedar, my favorite coffee place!

The rain was drizzling, a slight wind was blowing.

When I got to Dromedar I saw this "potato", made of whipped cream, raspberry jam and spongecake, covered with marzipan and sprinkled with something. I just had to have it! And it was the last one!

I brought it home with me, walking in the rain while I sipped my cappuccino.

My mom bought herself a new coffemachine a few days ago, so she sent me her old one. It's a Gaggia capsule machine. It's great for when I don't want to put on the kettle. Thanks Mom :-*
So I made myself a cup of lemon tea and ate my "potato".

After I enjoyed my "potato" I was craving dinner. So I made a dinner-pie. I used pie crust pack from Maizenna, precooked it for 5-7 minutes, then filled it with chicken, feta, spinach and cherry tomatoes, and then I poured over a mix of eggs, milk and creme fraiche. It tasted really good!

20 wishes

I am currently listening to an audiobook by Debbie Macomber, called "20 Wishes", in the Blossom Street series.

To write a list with 20 wishes is not easy, so I decided to make a "10 knitting realted things I wish to do in 2012"-list instead.

It's 10 1/2 months left of the year, so I am sure I can complete the list.

Knit myself a cardigan, maybe Zephyr
Make a special birthdaypresent for Hilde's 30th birthday.
Design a sock pattern.
Design a mitten/wristwarmer (2in1) pattern.
Knit at least 10 christmaspresents. Felted slippers, Pookies are on my list right now. More to come...
Buy a new knittingbook.
Crochet myself a granny square blanket of leftover yarn from projects throughout the year. Can't wait to see how that turns out!
Knit something for grandma Kitty. Maybe a jacket. I think she liked this one from Pickles.
Not have more that 10 UFO's by the end of 2012
Reduse my stash to 15kg of yarn by the end of 2012 (this one is going to be hard!)

Valentines Day

It's Valentines day...

My plans for today was just to do some laundry, eat lunch and walk Bowie, my aunt's dog.

My aunt made dinner, and we enjoyed a nice meal together with my cousin Emma.

While we were eating my phone rang. A man said he had a flower delivery for me...
I went and got the flowers, but had no idea who it was that had sent me flowers.
To my surprise it was my dear friend Magnhild who had sent this beautiful bouquet to me. I'm going to be her maid of honour in her wedding in May, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Thank you Magnhild! Looking forward to see you in April. Love you!

Bad, bad, blogger...

I know, I know...
My blog has been dead since long before Christmas.

But I just didn't feel like it.
So that's it, no excuses, just a blog-funk.

But now I'm back!

I'm knitting at full speed.
My cousin and his girlfriend got a beautiful, tiny, baby boy 23. Dec.
He was born 6 weeks early and needed some tiny clothes.
So I made him a blanket, jacket, hats and socks.

I also made a few Christmaspresents.
Buttcushions, socks, mittens... You can find pictures, here, on my Ravelry profile.

On the needles at the moment:

Knitting, knitting and knitting...

It's only 54 days until Christmas Eve, and I'm knitting for dear life to get all my christmasknitting done.
I'm knitting socks, mittens, butt-cushions, ornaments, catnip mice, santa babies. And I'm also going to embroider something on a gift that I first have to make (sew), and I'm also doing one or two embroideries that I'm giving away.

So that means that I can't show off any of my knitting...

But I can't wait to get all the christmasknitting done so that I can start on my next big project, my UFO's! AND a wedding present!
My good friend Magnhild is getting married next year to her dear Ole Jørgen, and I want to make them something special. Something for them both to enjoy. I know they both like handmade socks and other warm knits, so I think I have a plan. And, as I have already told Magnhild, the date of their marriage and their names will be on the present :-)

Crazy tea lady

I love drinking tea, and my friends have noticed that. I've gotten tea from London, from my favorite tea and coffee shop, tea I never would have thought about buying myself, and a nickname to go with it. Crazy tea lady.
My friend Magnhild was the one that came up with the name some years ago when I wisited her. She was at the time living in Kristiansand, and we were going to an Unni Wilhelmsen concert.
The next morning I slept a bit longer than Magnhild, and when I woke there was a cup of tea waiting for me in the windowsill with a note. Crazy tea lady!

I often think of Magnhild when I'm buying tea, wondering if I should buy an extra bag an send it to her.
I miss living close to all of my friends, but Magnhild is the one I used to share a cup of tea and talk about anything with.
I miss you :-)

...'till Christmas.
Christmas candy has started to arrive in the stores, and I really want some marzipan. But I'm gonna be a good girl and not eat any until Dec. 1st.

I'm knitting away on the presents my friends and family are getting for Christmas.

A birthdaypresent for my aunt is done, and tomorrow I'm starting a birthdaypresent for a good friend.

Monday morning

I always feel that I have a ton of stuff to do, but when I sit down with my knitting or a book all that is suddenly forgotten.
Do you feel like that sometimes?

Today I'm going to the catshelter for a few hours (will probably be more like four...), then I really want to knit, but should absolutely do the dishes instead. I also need to send out more job applications, try to get the rest of my stuff out of the movingboxes, write my dear Maike in Germany, take a shower, make dinner and so on, and so on.

It's really not much, but it feels like to much sometimes.

But right now I'm going to enjoy my cup of oolong camomille tea on the bus on my way to the catshelter :-)

I know many of you think it's to early to start thinking about Christmas, but it's really not.
Not if you're like me and want to give almost everyone homemade gifts.

I've started to make my list of gifts, and I've been asking friends and family what they wish for.
Many wish for handknit socks and mittens, and if I'm going to make their wishes come true I have to start now!

One gift is half done, only need to be felted, one is on the needles, and for the rest I'm looking through my stash for the right yarn.

Colder outside

It's getting colder outside. I really don't mind it as long as I have a small shawl to wrap around my neck.
I really need to get my shawl done soon, but I also need to seriously start my Christmas knitting.
My closest friends are getting handknits for Christmas. I only give that to those I really care about!

Taking a break from walking around the city now on my favourite cafe, Dromedar, drinking my favourite coffee, Sweet Chili, and reading The Painter of Shanghai.

The beginning of fall

It's September 1st, and I can feel the fall.

On my walk today I noticed that some trees and bushes has started to change colors.

I love the colors fall bring, it's my favorite colors.

The city looks so beautiful when it's sunny and cloudy at the same time.

Some flowers are preparing to spread their seeds.

The bumblebees are as busy as always.

I remember that my grandfather John used to pet the bumblebees on their back out in the garden when I was a child.

That's a memory I'll always treasure. Sadly he died a few years ago, and I really miss him.

At the end of my trip I came across two puppies playing in the grass.

I haven't been knitting for over a week now. Instead I've been moving to a new apartment and spent my time unpacking. I was surprised by how many books I have, and my yarn stash needs to be cut in half..

Today I started to read "The Painter of Shanghai" by Jennifer Cody Epstein. I'm only about 60 pages in as I write this, but I already know I will finish this book very fast =)
I also started a new knitting project today, just a small one to get me started again. Socks in "Fabel", size 3-4 years. Plain ribbed socks.

Thanks to Ginny at Small things for hosting this yarn along every Wednesday. It's a great way to keep a blog alive!

It's my birthday, and I do what I want to!

It's my birthday today. I'm officially 28 years at 10.12pm.

Not really doing anything special today. My 12 year old cousin, Emma, has a little birthdayparty planned for me next weekend :-) Just her and me. And her dog. She's such a cutie!!

The weather is kinda ok. Drizzles of rain, and high humidity. And warm. And of course I've got a cold... Again. Third time this summer.

Haven't done any knitting this week. Instead I've been moving. But tonight I'll do some knitting and watch a good movie, and eat cake :-)

Yarn Along 1

My friend in Germany, Maike, suggested that I'd join Ginny from Small Things in her Yarn Along, as I both knit and read a lot. Done!
I'm still knitting on the Surya shawl, the one that Maike and I are doing our own little KAL on. It's a beautiful shawl, and I have to agree with Maike that it kinda looks like crochet.

The book I'm reading is "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami. I started reading this book last year, but for some reason put it away after just reading about 1/4 of it. I've read about 2/3 of the book now, and there are some things in the book that I almost didn't want to read, and other things that I wanted to read over again. I find myself sacrificing my knitting time to read the book, and I only do that if it is a really good book!

Shawl KAL with my German penpal #1

I've got this great penpal in Germany, Maike.
We decided right from the start to do a KAL together someday, and that day was August 1st.
For those of you that don't know what a KAL is, it is an Knit ALong. That means that we knit the same thing, and Maike and I are knitting the Surya shawl by Caryl Pierre.
I'm knitting my shawl in "Fin" from DSA, and I'm loving the yarn and how the shawl is turning out.
Right now the shawl don't look like much, but I will post pictures as soon as I'm done with the first 12 rows of the shawl body.

Some of the project are tiny, and would probably only take me an hour or so to do, but I just made myself a promise a few days ago, and I can't break it already...

Lesson learned?

Still knitting on the babyjacket, but I made a mistake...
I really should have learned by now that I should not cast on anything late at night, but I just couldn't help myself, so I started on one of the arms for the jacket.
About 10cm in I discovered that I had cast on 4 stitches less than the pattern calls for... So I had to rip it out and start over again.
This time I counted twice before I started to knit!

Lesson learned? Maybe, maybe not.

Being monogamous

I have a history of knitting several items at once, and that has resulted into a lot of half-done stuff lying around...
And now I've started to feel bad for all the yarn and needles that I've been ignoring for so long.
So now I'm going to try something new!
I'm going to do one project at the time. I'm allowed to start new projects, but I have to finish it before starting a new or old project. And if I pick up an old project I have to finish it before starting a new or old project.

First project out is a cute set for a baby boy. It's from Drops Design, and I'm doing the jacket, bonnet and socks in Dale of Norway Babyull color 2425.

Farmers market

One Saturday a month there is a Farmers Market here in Trondheim.
I always try to go, and did so this Saturday.
I meet up with some friends and we walked around and took in the sights and smells.

I always buy something, and this time I found something new. Målselvnepe. I was told by the man who sold it to me that it could be used in wook and vegetable soups. So next week I'm making soup! He also sold carrots, and since I need carrots in my soup I bought them to.

Last time at the Farmers Market I bought some feta, and I was very glad when I saw that it was there this time too. And since I love rhubarb I bought 1kg to make dessert with one day.

It's the 1st day of May, and it's been a nice and sunny day. I've spent the day with my cousins and their dog, and we've been outside the good part of the day. And their nice danish neighbors offered us cake :-) Yummy chewy chocolate cake!

I'm feeling tierd today, and have a headache that won't go away.
Don't know what I want for dinner, want to read a book, want to make cards and need to take a shower.

I wish it was summer, so I can wear my new dress.

Maybe I'll figure out dinner, then take a nap and hope that my headache goes away and take it from there.

Spring

I know I don't blog that often anymore, and I keep telling myself every other day to go blog, but my motivation is just not there.
I'm not knitting as much as I used to, but still enjoy it very much though.

Started on a new project yesterday after my walk in the bright easter sun.
A "Little Winter Star hat" by Eileen Taylor. I'm doing it in purple and white. Think it will be nice.

I really enjoyed my walk yesterday, and am actually going out for a walk in an hour or so. Nobody could drive today, so I'm taking the bus to Granåsen VM-facility with this other girl Kristine to go work at the cat shelter. It's about a 20-30 minutes walk from the bus stop to the shelter.

Yesterday I noticed that flowers are starting to pop out from the ground, and it gave me that really good spring feeling.

After my walk I went to my favorite café for a sweet chili coffee and to read my book.

A nice thing to do

Today I decided to do something nice for my aunt.
I know how convenient it is to have something home-baked in the freezer, so I'm making a Vanilla cake for her.
It's easy, takes under an hour from start to finish and it gooood =)

Vanilla cake:

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees celsius

700 g flour
5 ts bakeingsoda
2 ts vanillasugar
400 g sugar
1 liter vanilla sauce

Mix everything together then add

200 g melted butter

Pour in to a tray.
Sprinkle over some cinnamon and sugar and bake for about 40 minutes on the lowest ridge in the oven.

Bowie, the Jack Russel, kept an eye on me while I was baking, just in case something dropped to the floor.
As soon as the cake is done we're going for a walk =)

For the next week I'm moving to my aunt and uncle's house to watch my cousins and their dog.
My aunt and uncle are going on a cruise in the Caribbean.
They are not leaving until tomorrow morning, but asked me if I would join them for dinner tonight.

So while the girls and I are waiting for them to come home I'm enjoying a cup of green tea with mint and Paulo Choelo's book "Onze Minutes" (Eleven Minutes).

I've been very very lazy the last few months, and my blog has been ignored...

Starting tomorrow, I will blog once a day for the next week.
I'm planning to finish a pair of socks, so that I have some knitting to blog about, and I've started to crochet squares for a blanket.
And I'm going to bake something, and go for walks and take some pictures.

I love December. The snow, the cold, all the lights in peoples windows.

I decided to make someone happy yesterday. So I made cookies and some other treats, and 18 little snowmen (Mochimochi snowmen) after deciding that the nice people at Svanholm Begravelsesbyrå deserved it. Everyone, including the janitor and the flower ladies got one bag with treats each, and everyone got a snowman.

Every day until Christmas, I'll post my favorite Christmas song for you to listen to.
Try to do something nice for others during the month of December. It's the month of giving, and you don't have to give things, you can give time, or even just a hug. To someone it really matters!

I have developed a big passion for food/baking blogs.
My new favorite is Passion 4 baking. Manuela really has got some great recipes, and today I made meringues from one of her recipes. Meringues is pretty easy to make, but it takes a while because they have to dry up for an hour or so in the oven.

I also love reading my second cousins wife's blog, she is great at making dinners from scratch.
And Helen's blog, she sometimes has some good tips about utensils and some recipes.

I'm currently out of a job, and am quite sad about it...
So, I'm currently on the search for a new job, and am considering everything.

But on the plus-side, I've got a lot of time for knitting.
So at the moment I have 3 projects going on, one that has to be done by Saturday morning (birthday present), one test-knit due on the 20th, and one due December 3rd.
One will probably be done today, I hope.

This Saturday, a really good friend of mine is coming to town. I don't think we've seen each other since early summer, and I'm really looking forward to meet her *hugs*

PS. Don't get to used to the look of my blog, it's going to change again real soon...

First snow

Luckily I made soup yesterday that I put on my thermos, so I had something to warm me up once I got to work this morning.

On Ravelry you can volunteer to test patterns for designers, and that's what I did two days ago. It's not a large project, just a little something. I had to have a small project to work on between knitting a blanket and a Nøstebarndress.

Recipe#5: Red lentil and carrot soup

I do like making soups in the fall, and today was no exception.

It's a bit cold outside, and a thick warming soup was just what I needed.

You take lentils, carrots, onion, garlic and chopped tomatoes, and heat it up with vegetable broth.

Put it in a blender, mix, put it back into the casserole, heat up again, put in some spices, pour in a little bit of milk, and serve once it heated up again.

Recipe #4: Naan Pizza

Still trying out new recipes, and todays recipe was yet again by Nigella Lawson.
This time it was pizza, made a little different than usual.
You take one naan, place your favourite pizza topping on it, put it in the oven until the cheese has melted, and enjoy. As simple as that.

Recipe #3: Roast Poussin/Cornish Hen and Sweet Potatoes

The third recipe I decided to try is Roast Poussin/Cornish Hen and Sweet Potatoes by Nigella Lawson.

I'm made some adjustments to it since it's only me eating, and the recipe is for two persons.
Instead of a whole hen I used a chicken breast, and I used half the amount of sweet potato.

I really liked this dish. It's easy to prepare, and you just leave it to cook in the oven until it's done. Couldn't be easier! Great for a late dinner.

My cousin R asked me last Friday if we could have a meal together this week.

So today we went to Wok Away. We had fun, talking, joking, and when we were done eating we went window shopping before we went home.

New recipe #2: Pea and Pesto Soup

Today I really wanted soup for dinner. Many say that soup is not dinner, but I don't care.
I could of course eat bread with it, but I rarely have bread.

For this soup I used Nigella Lawson's Pea and Pesto Soup recipe.

And it's delicious!

If you like green peas soup, and you like pesto, why not try this recipe.

Nigella says to make fresh pesto, but I didn't have the ingredients, so I used store-bought pesto. I'm sure it tastes better with fresh pesto, but it still tasted really good.
This recipe was large enough for me alone, so lucky me have Pea and Pesto soup for lunch tomorrow.

And then I'm gonna eat it with toast!

Pancakes

As I said in the previous post, I was going to make pancakes.

And so I did. I used this recipe for Pancakes without eggs and milk (recipe in Norwegian)

I ate my pancakes wit sugar on, as Ive done since I was a child.
After eating them, I didn't feel as heavy as I do when eating regular pancakes made with whole milk and eggs.
They taste pretty much the same, and as I rarely have milk in the house, this recipe will be the one I'll use from now on.

I'm going to try out some new recipes this week!
Today, after I come back from the gym I'm going to make pancakes without eggs and milk.

I kinda feel that I'm stuck making the same boring meals every week, so I thought I'd share this weeks new recipes with you. Todays recipe is great for those of you that can't have milk or eggs

Crumble!

Yesterday I made an apple/rhubarb crumble, and it was really good!
I divided it into 3 portions, and made one that I could eat after dinner, and two for today.

Recipe:

200 grams apple
200 grams rhubarb
3 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

Heat all the ingredients up in a small pan, just to soften them a bit. Pour into pie form, or other oven-proof dish.

Make some crumble:
50 grams of butter
50 grams of suger
100 grams of plain flour

Pour over the apples and rhubarb, and cook in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or 'till the crumble has taken on a light brown color.

A lot of things happened at work today, so it was quite a busy day. And that's a good thing, because the day just flew buy.

When I got home I sat down and started thinking about what yarn I could use, that I had in several colors and would work good together in a hat that Thorbjørn wanted me to knit for him.
My choice fell on Dale of Norway's Freestyle. I have red, orange, green and blue, and I think he will be happy with that. And me too, as I get to use my leftovers.
I'll use Jared Flood's Turn A Square pattern as my base pattern.

Now I just have to decide if I'm going to purchase either Utopia or The Great Gatsby from Audible.com, so I have something to listen to while I knit :-)

I don't blog that often, but I think about doing it.
When I get a new cellphone that I'll be able to blog from I'll probably blog more often.
I feel that I'm neglecting my blog, and I don't like that feeling.
And I always feel that I need to put out pictures, but I really don't.
So from now on I'll try to blog what I write on my notes without feeling bad that I don't have a picture to post with it.

So, how have you been, you few people who read my blog?
Me, I've been good.
My birthday was yeasterday, and my aunt and uncle invited me to their place for dinner and brownies.
A nice quiet day.

This last Monday one of my friends had her baby. A really cute little baby boy whom I already knitted some items for. Kari-Anne and Mads, congratulations with little baby Ola!!

Last weekend I went to the Pstereo festival with some friends. We saw Åge Aleksandersen, Robyn, DumDum Boys, Teddybears and a few more. Fun, a bit rainy, but fun :-)

I also went up to Høgheim again last Saturday, and cared for the cats. Some of them needs medicine, others just want a cuddle, like Randy here. He climbed up into my arms and decided to stay there. I almost felt bad when I had to put him down. I just can't understand why he hasn't been adopted by a loving family yet...

I'm going back up there next Sunday, so more pictures will be posted after that.

Kittens, knitting and yoga

Last Sunday I went to Høgheim again to do some volunteer work. I like going up there and clean for the cats, give them food and water and cuddles. And they are all so sweet! This time there was 9 kittens there too. I don't remember all their names, but they were all so beautiful, alert and playful!

I also talked a bit to the wild cats that we take care of. They are quite shy, but one of them comes pretty close, but wont let you touch him.

What's in the knittingbag?
Well, right now I'm testknitting some gauntlets/wristwarmers for a designer on Ravelry. I'm doing them i blue Drops Alpaca, and they are turning out beautiful! Will post a picture as soon as I have both of them done.

Today I went to yoga at the gym with my friend MB. Neither of us have done yoga there before, so we decided to do it together. It's alot easier to go with a friend than to do it alone.

We both really liked it and will do it again!

Sunday; knitting and a movie

How do you spend your Sunday?

Today, I've spendt my Sunday knitting and watching Sense and Sensibility.

I think it's the fifth time I'm watching this movie, and I can't get over how awkvard Hugh Grant looks and how childish Kate Winslet was. But one have to remember that the movie was made in 1995.
It's not my favourite Jane Austen novel, thet might be Pride and Prejudice, but I have yet to read everything she wrote. Might attempt to read my way through her works this upcoming fall.

I've also been knitting, as I mentioned earlier in this post. I finished Lady Magdalene, a beautiful shawlette by Kimberly Delacruz from the blog Parts of Craziness. I really really like this pattern, and might use it again. I only have left to darn in the two treads and block, then I'll post a picture.

Last Sunday I spendt my day on a shelter for cats, called Høgheim. I'm in training there to be a volunteer. There is a lot of cats there, and they are all so beautiful. I hope they all get a good home in the end.

1st day of Tour de France

We had really good weather today, so I went for a walk.

Decided to go to the library, and on my way there I found the ducks in the top of the picture. It's not really that much water there, but I would cool my feet there if needed to too :-)

The seagull babies must live close to the library, and were really cute. Mommy and daddy were circling over my head, so I decided to leave them alone and go into the library.

At the library I looked at several books, but only took one home.
Vouge Knitting on the Go: Baby Gifts. Found seven patterns in that that I wantet to have a closer look at.

On my way home I stopped at Cielo for some ice cream. Honey flavoured! Yummy!

Then it was time for the prolouge in Tour the France. Have to keep an eye on Thor Hushovd and Edvald Boasson Hagen.
Joined the Tour de France KAL on Ravelry, and the Cervélo TestTeam.
I'm going to try for a green jersey.

Green jersey = those knitting multiple small projects during the three weeks of the race. For the product knitters, the dishcloth knitters, the blanket square folk, etc.

Yellow jersey = those tackling something really epic. Maybe you want to try lace for the very first time, or socks. Maybe you want to design and knit a fair isle-inspired sweater, steeks and all, before the riders finish that final lap on the Champs-Elysées.

Polka Dot jersey = completion of languishing WIPs. (The more, the merrier: go for as many summits as you can!)

White jersey = rookie knitter or new Tour watcher.

Domestique = not in it for the competition, just along for the ride to enjoy the race and the scenery and encourage teammates.

Spring Garden Tee for Elvira

I don't know if you've heard about the Never Not Knitting podcast, but I listen to every episode Alana Dakos puts out. She is also an knitwear designer, and her designs are beautiful. A few weeks ago I decided to buy one of her patterns, and I decided on the Spring Garden Tee.

It's so beautiful, and really an quick easy knit. I found some yarn in my stash, Gedifra California, in an rustic beige color. I made it in an childs size 2, and hopefully it will fit a little girl named Elvira.

I really like this pattern, it's easy to follow and fun to knit.

ETA: It is done, but I haven't taken a picture of it yet. Had it done before the World cup was done though.

Working where I do, I sometimes get songs stuck in my head.
Most people get songs they hear on the radio stuck, but I get funeral songs.
Lately it's been "Gje meg handa di, ven".
The original lyrics was written by William Butler Yeats. According to Wikipedia, Yeats indicated in a note that it was "an attempt to reconstruct an old song from three lines imperfectly remembered by an old peasant woman in the village of Ballisodare, Sligo, who often sings them to herself."
I found this beautiful version that Emi Fujita, and it's this one I'm listening to. She has also done a great version of Tir n'a noir by Vamp.

Something blue

Yesterday was a beautiful day.
The sun was shining, it was warm, and it almost felt like summer.
Something blue caught my eye. A flower by a gravestone. Pretty.

Later on the day I went to take the boat to Kristiansund.
Had to go home and help my mom clean out of the old house.
And it's still a blue day, only now it is raining...

Sunday knitting, and walking home from work

It's Sunday, and I'm trying to do a bit of knitting. I have to get something done soon, and at the rate I'm going now I'm not gonna get anything done.
So I decided to get out 5 of my WIP's (WorksInProgress), and do a few rows on one, put it down, have a little break, pick up the next project and so on.

And while I'm doing this I'm back-listening to Belle of the Ball podcast. I'm just starting on episode 22, and I believe I'll get through maybe four episodes today.
Anyway, here's a picture of today's knitting projects; Mor Signes Babyteppe, Lunt og godt baby hat (Ravelry-link), sweater for my cousin Emma (my own pattern), Knit a block a month KAL January block, Froot Loop sock.

Earlier this week, walking home from work, I stopped and took some pictures. By Samfundet I took a picture of some crocus. When the crocus is poking up from the ground the spring is coming, and I love the feeling knowing that gives me.

Walked down by Nidelven, took a picture of my shadow, then a picture of the Gamle Bybro (Old Town Bridge). I really like walking on Bakklandet, it's always a lot of people there, but at the same time it's kinda quiet.

Penguin dishcloths

A friend of mine moved a little over a month ago, and I didn't get him a housewarming present. So when he came to Trondheim for Easter, I quickly knit up two Happy Penguin dishcloths for him. He just loves penguins. I hope he liked them.

I just finished reading "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood.

It's a strong, yet simple and touching book about how people find comfort in knitting in different stages of grief. I cried, I laughed and really enjoyed reading this book.
